Two accidents within 10 minutes on Highway 10
Wednesday afternoon was a bad time for accidents on Highway 10 West in Detroit Lakes, where there were two rear-end accidents reported within 10 minutes.
At 12:44 p.m. an accident with injuries was reported on Highway 10 West, after a semi tractor-trailer rig rear-ended a pickup truck that then hit another pickup in front of it.
The two pickup trucks were stopped in westbound traffic on Highway 10, east of the Highway 59 intersection.
The accident occurred when a 2004 Freightliner semi, driven by Robin Douglas, 39, of Kleefeld, Manitoba, rear-ended a 2003 Silverado driven by Darin Stephen Haugen, 35, of Glyndon.
The Silverado then rear-ended a 1989 Ford F-150 driven by Todd Jon Wart-man, 46, of Lake Park.
Haugen was taken to St. Mary's Innovis hospital for treatment.
At 12:52 p.m. an accident with injuries was reported on Highway 10 West.
A 2003 Subaru Outback was rear-ended by a 1994 Chevy pickup truck in the eastbound lane of Highway 10 near the Airport Road intersection.
The Chevy was driven by Douglas Wilbert Moeller, 18, of Lake Park, who told police he took his eyes off the road for a moment and rear-ended the Subaru, driven by Michael Neil Jenson, 23, of Nevis. An infant passenger in the Outback was taken to St. Mary's Innovis hospital to get checked out.
