Two arrested in Breckenridge after passenger stabbed in vehicle
WAHPETON, N.D. – Two men were arrested early this morning after a passenger in their car alleges he was stabbed by another passenger and held down by the driver when he attempted to flee the vehicle.
Jalen William Dyson, 20, of Eden Prairie, Minn., alleges he was stabbed by 18-year-old Chozey Joran Schumacher of Wishek, N.D., while in a vehicle driven by Patricio Marquez Jr., 19, of Berthold, N.D., according to a news release from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
Dyson told authorities that when he tried to get away from Schumacher, Marquez Jr. pulled over and tried to hold Dyson down.
Dyson was able to escape the vehicle and was later picked up by a North Dakota Department of Transportation plow operator. He was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, where he was treated for injuries that didn’t appear to be life threatening.
Marquez Jr. and Schumacher were arrested in Breckenridge and taken to Wilkin County Jail. Formal charges are pending.
