Two charged in Duluth stabbing
DULUTH - Two people arrested Thursday for their alleged roles in the stabbing of a Duluth woman in Sandstone have been charged in Pine County District Court.
Teri Elizabeth LaSarge, 20, of Sandstone has been charged with one count of assault in the first degree and one count of assault in the second degree for allegedly stabbing Waabimigizi Pennie Robertson, 21, in the neck early Thursday morning. Dain Michael Quick, 23, of Pine City has been charged with one count of aiding an offender.
At 3:15 a.m., the Pine County Sheriff's Department received a report that a woman had been stabbed in the neck at 45982 Grace Lake Road. According to the criminal complaint, alcohol was a factor in the encounter, which allegedly took place between Robertson and LaSarge outside the residence.
LaSarge fled the scene with help from Quick and they were on the run for much of Thursday, said Pine County Chief Deputy Steven Ovick. The pair called the Sheriff's Department to turn themselves in Thursday evening. Robertson remains hospitalized in critical condition at a Twin Cities hospital.
