Two charged with felony check forgery
Malinda Lace Holmes, 18, of Litchfield has been charged in Becker County District Court with offering a forged check, a felony, and check forgery -- $250 or more, also a felony.
She and her boyfriend allegedly stole check blanks from one of her relatives and signed the woman's name on nine checks, purchasing more than $400 worth of goods and services at Detroit Lakes area businesses, according to court records.
A warrant was issued for her arrest.
The boyfriend, Andrew Timothy Oswald, 19, of 29010 McHugh Road, Detroit Lakes, has been charged with felony offering a forged check between $250 and $2,500.
He appeared July 17 before District Judge Lisa Borgen, who originally set bond at $5,000, then decided that existing bond for other Oswald files would cover this charge as well.
