In the second case, Soloman Francis Jourdain, 22, was charged with one count of aggravated assault with intent to commit murder.

Both were charged Tuesday via a criminal complaint, and both remain in custody.

According to the Cobenais complaint:

On May 22, she assaulted a woman resulting in serious bodily injury. According to a law enforcement affidavit filed in the case, police were called to the victim's residence at 11:32 a.m. The victim told police she was awakened by Cobenais, who proceeded to jump on top of her and began to punch and kick her. Cobenais also allegedly bit the victim's inner thigh. With assistance from a third individual, Cobenais left the residence only to later return and begin hitting the victim with a wooden 2-by-4. The victim suffered two fractured hands and a fractured lower leg.

If convicted, Cobenais faces a potential maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. All sentences are determined by a federal district court judge.

According to the Jourdain complaint:

Jourdain is alleged to have stabbed his victim May 23 while at a graduation party. According to a law enforcement affidavit filed in the case, police were called to a residence at 12:47 a.m. and found the victim lying on the ground with a large laceration on his torso. He was eventually taken to a hospital in Fargo and stayed there for a couple of days.

The victim told authorities he was trying to settle down a group of young men who were causing trouble, and while he was talking to them, Jourdain, also known as Sol Dez and Soloman Desjarlait, lunged at him and stabbed him several times. After he fell to the ground, others began to punch and kick him while Jourdain continued to stab him.

If convicted, Jourdain faces a potential maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
