Two charged for trying to use forged prescription
Two Frazee residents -- one of them serving time in state prison on another charge -- have been charged with using a forged prescription to obtain drugs at a Detroit Lakes pharmacy.
Donald Arthur Merrill, 40, formerly of 30397 Highway 10, Lot 8, Frazee, and Kerri Sarah Puttbrese, 28, of Town Lake Trailer Park, Unit 13, Frazee, are each facing one felony count of fifth-degree controlled substance crime in connection with the Sept. 9, 2011 incident.
According to the complaint, Puttbrese brought in a prescription from a Barnesville clinic to Seip Drug, located inside Central Market in Detroit Lakes, which had been made out in Merrill's name. She also used Merrill's prescription card to purchase the pills.
It was subsequently determined that the prescription had been forged.
Puttbrese will make her first court appearance on the charge on June 19; a warrant has been issued for Merrill, who is currently incarcerated in St. Cloud.
