Two Detroit Lakes students charged in high school bomb incident
Two students are facing felony charges in Becker County District Court in connection with the Feb. 25 detonation of two homemade bombs at Detroit Lakes High School.
Aaron Quinn Bachmann, 16, of 21255 Brookridge Drive, Detroit Lakes, and Christian Allan Breitzman, 18, of 30376 240th St., Detroit Lakes, were each charged with one felony count of explosive or incendiary devices.
Breitzman, who was released Thursday after posting a $5,000 bond, is accused of bringing the the materials used in the homemade bombs -- Drano and tin foil -- to school and mixing them together there, then placing one of them in a garbage can in the upper hallway of the high school. Bachmann is accused of placing the second homemade bomb in a lower level garbage can.
Bachmann, a junior at DLHS, is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility in Moorhead pending his first court appearance on March 17. Breitzmann, a DLHS senior, will make his next court appearance March 16.
