Two intoxicated males capsize canoe in Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. – Two intoxicated males capsized a canoe on the Red River here Monday afternoon.

Although they were able to get to shore on their own, a Breckenridge Fire Department Water Rescue boat retrieved them and their dog.

Both suffered minor injuries from debris in the river but refused medical treatment. Neither was wearing a life jacket, and there weren’t any flotation devices in the canoe.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is investigating the incident.
