Two men cut in alleged fight outside West Fargo bar
A West Fargo man is accused of attacking two men with a knife during a fight outside a West Fargo bar Friday.
Two felony charges of aggravated assault were filed in Cass County District Court on Friday against 25-year-old Kenneth Edward Fredrickson.
Police responded to a report of a fight involving about five people at 12:35 a.m. at the Work Zone bar at 701 Main Ave. E., Detective Greg Warren said.
One of the victims, Brandon Schempp, 26, of West Fargo, sustained a slash-type wound to the left side of his neck and a cut on his left ear, according to court documents. Both wounds required stitches at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, Warren said.
Schempp was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Police also believe a second man, Seth Johnson, was cut in the chest, according to court records.
After interviewing bar patrons, officers arrested Fredrickson. Warren said the weapon allegedly used was a collapsible, utility-type knife. The case remains under investigation.
"We will have several people to interview as there were a lot of bystanders and so forth that I think came outside of the bar, so (we have) a lot of work to do to find out exactly what led up to the stabbing," Warren said.
At an initial court appearance Friday, bail was set at $10,000 cash or bond.
