Two teens arrested after report of stabbing, assault in Minnesota's Hubbard County
LAPORTE, Minn. - A 17-year-old male was stabbed and another youth was assaulted in an incident that resulted in two arrests late Sunday, authorities said today.
Upon arriving, officers learned that the suspects in the assaults had fled the scene. A Hubbard County sheriff's deputy and police officer from Walker, Minn., located the suspects in rural Hubbard County.
Two suspects were arrested and are in the Hubbard County Jail pending formal assault charges. They were identified as Donald Eugene Libby Jr., 18, of Duluth and Jacob Ryan Joy, 18, of Bemidji, according to Jerry Tatro, an investigator with the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office..
Both victims were transported to North Country Hospital in Bemidji for treatment of their injuries. No further information about their condition was available.
