Uglies back in Perham Friday
Few bands have left such a mark on the ballrooms, clubs and crowds as the group known as The Unbelievable Uglies, a "rock and soul show band" that formed in Detroit Lakes in 1963.
Now, for the third year in a row, this incredible band will be playing in Perham from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday, June 25 at the Historic Grand View Heights Ballroom, as part of Turtle Fest festivities.
Don't miss dancing on this treasure of a 90-year old (suspended) wooden dance floor -- feel every wooden beam vibrate to the music. Enjoy refreshments, beer and set-ups.
If you have a song you'd like to hear -- send in your requests to www.unbelievableuglies.com.
Come early in the day and enjoy Perham's annual Turtle Fest celebration, with activities for the whole family.
Tickets for the Uglies' performance are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, and will be available at the Perham Chamber of Commerce, Jerome's Antiques, Ma's Little Red Barn, the History Museum and ITOW Veterans Museum.
This event is sponsored by the East Otter Tail Historical Society. The Grand View Heights Ballroom is located at the Pioneer Grounds, a half mile north of Perham on County Road 8. For more information call 218-841-3683 or send e-mail to EOTCHS@yahoo.com.
