State Eagles Convention
The Minnesota State Eagles Convention begins at the ClubHouse Hotel in Detroit Lakes. Hosted by the Detroit Lakes Eagles Club, the convention will continue through Saturday, June 20.
Perham's Turtle Fest celebrates its silver anniversary this year, starting today with turtle races and train rides on Main Street from 10 a.m. to noon.

Live at the Lodge
The Lodge on Lake Detroit will host a free "Live at the Lodge" concert every Thursday through Aug. 27. This week's performance features musician Jeff Mooridian (guitar and vocals). The concert will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. in the hotel's Fireside Lobby, and is free and open to the public as well as hotel guests. There is no cover charge for the Summer Thursdays series. Perham's 25th annual Turtle Fest continues with the Little Miss Perham Pageant starting at 7 p.m. in the Perham High School Auditorium. Registration for girls between the ages of 5-7 years begins at 6:30 p.m.

Perham's 25th annual Turtle Fest celebration continues with train rides and turtle races from 10 a.m. to noon on Main Street; a live broadcast of KFGO's "Jack and Sandy Show" from Ma's Little Red Barn from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; kids' inflatable games at the Turtle Race Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Turtle Fest Grand Parade at 7 p.m. on Main Street; and a street dance featuring music by October Road starting at 9 p.m., with fireworks starting at 10:30 p.m. inside the East Otter Tail County fairgrounds.
The seventh annual Smokin' Iron Truck & Tractor Pull gets underway today in Ottertail. Pulls start at 7 p.m.; gates open at 4 p.m. Classes include heavy super stock tractor open, 2 wheel drive pickup, super farm tractor, modified, grand national mini modified and 4 wheel drive modified pickup. Tickets are $26 for season tickets, $14 in advance (which are available at Nereson's in Detroit Lakes), $15 at the door, $7 for ages 5-10 and age 4 and under are admitted free. Perham's 25th annual Turtle Fest celebration continues with ann all-day softball tournament and a Screamin' Eagles model airplane flying event (also all day); a used book sale at the Perham library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; a pancake feed on West Main from 7 to 11 a.m.; citywide garage sales starting at 8 a.m.; food and craft vendor displays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on First Avenue South; train rides and turtle races on Main Street, 10 a.m. to noon; the 14th annual Turtle Fest Road Race at Paul Miller Park starting at 9 a.m. (registration begins at 7:45 a.m.); a cookout, car and motorcycle show at the NP Park (near the post office) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; kids' pedal tractor pull on Main street (behind the turtle races) starting at 12 noon; a demolition derby starting at 2 p.m. in the fairgrounds; and Perham Pirates baseball at Krueger Field (also inside the fairgrounds).

Back to the 60s Bash
For the second year in a row, the Unbelievable Uglies will rock Perham's Grand View Heights Ballroom as the featured entertainers for the "Back to the 60s" Bash. The event gets underway at 7 p.m. with a performance by the Perham-based band Sapphire. The Uglies will take the stage at 9 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m., and live music will continue from 7 p.m. to midnight. This event is a fund-raiser for the East Otter Tail County Historical Society. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and are available at the Perham Enterprise Bulletin office, Jerome's Antiques Ma's Little Red Barn and the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce. Callaway Street Dance
The Callaway Street Dance is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with music by FUSE. All proceeds to benefit the Callaway Fire Department.

Perham's 25th annual Turtle Fest celebration concludes with a breakfast at Lakes Café, 8 a.m. to noon; Wood Bat Legion Baseball tournament, with games at 10 a.m., noon, 2 and 4 p.m. at Krueger Field; an all-day Turtle Fest Softball Tournament; and a "Heavenly Hackers" Golf Tournament from 2 to 6 p.m.

Tuesdays in the Park
A Detroit Lakes summer tradition for the past several years, the Tuesdays in the Park concert series continues June 16 with a 7 p.m. performance by Doc & the Scrubs.
