Ukelele sensation comes to Fargo Theatre

It’s a long and winding road that brings Jake Shimabukuro to the Fargo Theatre Sunday night. After all, it’s not every day a Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso does a national tour behind an orchestral album produced by prog rocker Alan Parsons and arranged by glam rocker Kip Winger.

Shimabukuro was given a ukulele as a 4-year-old and took to the four-string instrument. Eighteen years later he was part of a popular Hawaiian band, Pure Heart and later Colón.
