Ulen man injured in ATV accident
A 52-year-old Ulen man was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo on Sunday after an ATV accident about a half- mile west of Ulen, the Clay County Sheriff's Department reported.
Tony Green had been riding eastbound in the south ditch along County Road 34 when the accident occurred about 7:30 p.m., Sgt. Ryan Alderman said.
Green lost his hat, turned around to look for it, and lost control of the ATV, Alderman said. The four-wheeler rolled on top of him, Alderman said.
Fellow riders saw Green lying under the machine unconscious and pulled the machine off him, Alderman said.
The Ulen rescue squad was called about 7:33 p.m. and was at the scene in minutes, Alderman said.
Green regained consciousness, but was still airlifted to MeritCare for treatment, Alderman said. He said Green's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The Sheriff's Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Ulen Fire Department also responded to the accident, Alderman said.
