UPDATE: Two-vehicle crash north of Glyndon kills one, seriously injures another
GLYNDON, Minn. - A two-vehicle crash shortly before noon north of here killed one person and left two others injured, authorities say.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 9 and 90th Avenue North, also Clay County 26.
The crash involved a northbound pickup towing an unoccupied horse trailer and a westbound van. The vehicles, which both had Minnesota license plates, ended up in a ditch on the northwest quadrant of the intersection.
A woman was driving the van when it collided with the pickup, which was occupied by a female driver and a male passenger, said Sgt. Jesse Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol.
It appeared the truck on the state highway had the right of way. The cross traffic on the county road was subject to stop signs at the intersection.
Grabow said the male passenger in the pickup died. The female driver of the van is in serious condition at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, Grabow said. The female driver of the pickup is hospitalized with what Grabow said were not life-threatening injuries.
The state patrol dispatched an accident reconstruction team to the scene.
