Updated: DFL pushing tax hike to Pawlenty
ST. PAUL -- Legislative Democrats want to raise Minnesota taxes $400 million, mostly on couples who make more than $200,000 annually, to help fix the state budget deficit.
Senators passed the bill 34-33 this afternoon and the House was to take it up tonight.
Republican legislative leaders flatly rejected the plan, and GOP Gov. Tim Pawlenty said he would veto it.
