U.S. needs to get out of Afghanistan war
When the Bush Administration went into Afghanistan, I felt at the time and wrote about this that all nations are affected by terrorism and that because of this, we needed all the help we could get to win this war. Well only a few nations helped us and we didn't give the others an ultimatum and say, "We will not go in if we don't have your help!"
Now the U.S. can see that we should get out instead of using all our good men and women and money to keep this war going. We can protect our own country from terrorism and others can do the same. We tried to do the right thing, and I'm sure the other nations who did not help us thought, "Why should we help when we are not required to do so?" Now we can see the folly in not requiring the help from all other countries.
We the U.S. and a few other nations have done what could be done and now it is time to leave. The only failure I can see in leaving is that we needed more help and didn't require this of other countries at that time, and because of this instead of winning, we all need to fight all these groups of terrorists on our own turf. -- Carol Strache, Frazee
