Relay bake sale
Midwest Bank hosts a bake sale from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to raise money for the 2014 Relay For Life of Becker County.
The Park Rapids Friendly Squares host a square dance in the Park Rapids High School. The caller will be Jim Lizakowski and the cuer will be Rita Lizakowski. There will be “Plus” dancing from 7:30 to 8. Mainstream from 8 to 10. The club members will furnish potluck lunch after the dance. All square dancers and spectators are welcome.

Winter Craft & Vendor Show
The Detroit Lakes Women of Today present their Winter Craft & Vendor Show from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Stop by the Washington Square Mall for a day of holiday gift shopping from local vendors. Come early for a free will offering pancake breakfast at the Eagles (8-11 a.m.), and take a break from shopping to watch the fashion show at noon.
Woodcarvers meet at Washington Square Mall beginning at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to stop by and visit.

PEO Chapter DQ
Chapter DQ, P.E.O. meets in The Madison at 6 p.m. for a light dinner. Janet Green is the hostess and assisting her are Betty Keller, Joan Westlake, Lynn Pettit and Vicki Johnson. Two members will give their profiles for the program.

Overeaters Anonymous Detroit Lakes Serenity Group meets Tuesdays at noon in the second floor library of the First Lutheran Church.
Grieving my way
Grieving my Way, a support group for parents who have experienced the loss of a child of any age, meets the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes Library. For more info, call Brenda at 846-9275.
Sons of Norway
Vikingland Lodge No. 495, Detroit Lakes, meets at 6 p.m. in Union Central. The meeting will begin with soup and sandwiches. The program includes a DVD by the members who took a trip on the Hurtigruten cruise ship up and down the coastline of Norway. District 1 President, Barb Olson from Vining, will also bring greetings, and a memorial service for those members who are no longer with us. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
Wednesday, Nov. 13
Detroit Lakes NARFE (National Active & Retired Federal Employees) Chapter 1842 meets at noon in the Ice Cutter Room at the Holiday Inn in Detroit Lakes. Guest speaker will be Sara VanOffelen from Becker County Extension Office, who will speak on Preserving the Harvest. All current and retired Federal employees and spouses are encouraged to attend.
Roses from Rotary
DL Breakfast Rotary Club is selling Roses from Rotary, with pick-up dates Nov. 6-8 at Bergen’s Greenhouse, DL Floral & gifts and Zee Lanes in Frazee. One dozen roses are $20, and tickets can be purchased at DL Newspapers or from Breakfast Rotary members.
