Vergas to host event center fundraiser ‘Enchanting Du Jour’
On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Vergas Event Center will be decorated for an evening of socializing, great food, spirits, live entertainment and bidding wars over the silent auction items.
The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and opening bids on the silent auction items. The Vergas Lions will be hosting a cash bar, and like last year, bottles of wine may be purchased for the guests at your table. Dinner will be served at 6:30, followed by live entertainment provided by 2gether Productions, Kathryn and Andy Karg, of St. Paul.
Last year, the event resulted in the purchase of black banquet chairs for the event center. Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to purchase window treatments and additional round tables for the venue.
Melissa Bunkowske, event coordinator and a member of the City of Vergas Event Center committee, said numerous ideas and suggestions come in on how to improve the event center’s marketability. Last year the chairs were top priority, and this year, the window treatments are at the top of the list.
They will help utilize the new projector system the Vergas Lions purchased and donated for the venue. The winter months are not as challenging in the evening as in the summer months, keeping the long daylight hours from affecting the screen projections at receptions and presentations is important. Likewise additional round tables are needed to add to the 10 the center already has.
Everyone is welcome to attend this night of fundraising for the community.
The themed tables are the highlight of the evening; so many super ideas and talented individuals make the night a real showcase of Vergas. If anyone is interested in decorating a table and hosting a table of eight, there are a few tables still available. For those who want to attend the event but do not want to host, seats are available.

Donations from businesses and individuals for the silent auction are welcome.
