Verizon Wireless opens in Downtown Crossing
They've cut the ribbon and it's time to get down to business.
Verizon Cellular has now opened in another location in Detroit Lakes, this time in the new Downtown Crossing, next to Miguel's.
The cellular store is a bit different from its locations by Walmart and Arvig, in that the new store is a premium retailer that deals solely with Verizon products.
"The one out by Walmart is owned by Verizon -- it's a corporate location, a direct link to Verizon," said Store Manager Shawn Ross, "ACS is an authorized retailer and we are a premium retailer...we are specialized in everything Verizon. It's all we do, and we do it well."
Ross says their employees are trained to stay on top of Verizon's latest technology and devices to make sure "customers get everything they need and nothing more".
The store, which currently has five employees, officially opened up on April 13 with their grand opening on the 26th.
Verizon employees gave away food and a large trampoline to one lucky customer who "walked in for a phone and walked out with that and a new trampoline", Ross said.
The Verizon store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sun-days from noon to 5 p.m.
