Vivian M. Ellingson, 95, Detroit Lakes, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at St. Mary's Innovis Health, Detroit Lakes.
Vivian was born on June 22, 1913, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Erickson) Sall in Richwood Township of Becker County. She was raised and educated in the Detroit Lakes area. Vivian was united in marriage to Paul Ellingson on Oct. 2, 1947, in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Lake Park until moving to Thief River Falls in 1951. They returned to Detroit Lakes in 1986. Vivian was a homemaker for most of her life. She has resided at the Lamplighter since 2007.
Vivian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Upsala Lutheran Church, rural Detroit Lakes. She enjoyed fishing and working in her flower garden.
Vivian is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and several other relatives.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul, and two brothers, Einhart and Carl Sall.
The funeral service is Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, with Pastor Dan Babine, officiating.
Visitation is Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. in West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Interment is in Upsala Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes.
