Voice your concerns about Burlington Township

It is with regret that there is far less discussion in the Burlington town hall than in the press. With people's mortgage escrow payment increasing as a result of this year's record breaking Burlington tax increase, I have received calls from upset neighbors. I reminded them that at the annual meeting, the people overwhelmingly voted down the Eagle Lake paving project and strongly supported the graveling and dust control plan.

They ask me why doesn't their vote count for anything anymore? People now realize their promised gravel road plan died because of the Eagle Lake paving cost. The violation of the people's vote is now finished. It is now time to move on.

The board needs to appoint a supervisor now. The board needs to address its financial distress now. The board needs to focus on its risk exposure to the reported road safety problems.

Come to the next meeting to address your concerns, regardless of your point of view. It is not just your right but also your responsibility. Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Frazee Fire station.
