VP of Transportation for Ulteig Engineering
Ulteig announces that Joel Marcuson, PE has joined Ulteig as the company's Vice President of Transportation.
Marcuson brings more than 30 years of traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and public agency experience to the company.
Marcuson's experience includes traffic engineering for three major U.S. cities, a role in which he was in charge of signal system operations and the implementation and expansion of computerized traffic signal systems.
He is a member of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (NCUTCD); the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committees for Freeway Operations, Highway Capacity Manual, and Active Traffic Management (ATM); and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
Marcuson has served as a reviewer of the recent Transportation Research Board's Human Factors Manual and Highway Safety Manual and sat on the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Committee to select both the Engineer and Project of the Year (for 2010).
He has taught courses in maintenance of traffic in work zones, traffic signal design, and roundabout design and has made presentations to professional groups and the public throughout the United States and the world on multiple transportation issues.

Earning a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Marcuson holds Professional Registrations in 10 U.S. states.
He will work in Ulteig's Fargo office.
