Wadena man charged with first-degree sex crime
WADENA - A Wadena man was charged July 22 with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13 for allegedly touching a young girl inappropriately.
On April 28, Wadena police were contacted by the Midwest Children's Resource Center in St. Cloud regarding an allegation of sexual abuse. A 5-year-old girl had reported that she had been inappropriately touched by Lucas Alquin Sand, 26, of Wadena, while staying at a Wadena residence.
The girl told investigators that while she was trying to sleep, Sand pulled her pants down and touched a private part. Sand and another person at the residence during the alleged incidents, which were between April 17-19, denied the report, but gave investigators conflicting accounts of where the young girl slept during that time, court records said.
Sand was set for a first appearance in Wadena County District Court on Aug. 17.
