Wahpeton woman sentenced for embezzling from sugar beet co-op
WAHPETON, N.D. - A Wahpeton woman accused of embezzling from the Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative has been sentenced to serve one year in jail.
Colleen West also was ordered to pay more than $221,000 in restitution.
West is a former accountant for the sugar beet farmers co-op. Authorities say she took the money between April 2003 and December 2007. A Minn-Dak accounting supervisor reported the theft late last year, and West was fired. She was arrested in January.
She'll be on probation for five years after her jail term.
