Want to own your own business? MSCTC service hosting 'Getting Started' seminar June 6
Minnesota State Community & Technical College's Business & Entrepreneurial Services is hosting a "Getting Started" seminar on Friday, June 6.
The seminar will cover topics such as how to self promote, rely on referrals, lay a foundation with colleagues, community, and clients, and the good, the bad, and the ugly of being an entrepreneur.
Speaker Beth Pridday, who started three diversified businesses in a small community climate within five years, will address the trials and errors of starting a business.
Successful projects will be discussed as well, including a $4.5 million dollar capital campaign to build a women's shelter, a $1 million cancer care center, a $75,000 capital fund drive for arts organization, a $125,000 capital fund dive for curling club, and $480,000 for Human Society of the Lakes shelter.
Marketing, public relations, special events, advertising, fundraising, retail, grant-writer, and instructor all could describe owning your own business.
The event starts at 10 a.m. in conference room C101 at the Detroit Lakes campus of MSCTC.
