Wanted: Fish stories
Walleye opener is May 15, and with the early ice-out, anglers are hoping the warmer lakes will lead to good luck behind the reel.
We want to hear your fishing stories -- be it stalking and landing the big one, the heartbreak of the One That Got Away, memories of your first time fishing with your parent or your child, lessons learned while fishing or memorable moments.
What was it like to catch the biggest fish you've ever landed?
How about falling into the lake going after that big musky, or being out-fished by your kid?
Send us your stories (and photos, if you have them) and we'll share them with other readers in the newspaper and online.
For the sake of brevity, Please keep the stories to 500 or 600 words, and feel free to write about anything you like -- be the memories joyful, funny, sad or anything in between.
Mail them to Editor, Detroit Lakes Newspapers, 511 Washington Ave., Box 826, Detroit Lakes, MN, 56501 or email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
