Warrant issued for Ogema man for assault
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of an Ogema man on a felony charge of false imprisonment as well as two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault.
Daniel Allen Warren, 48, of 38264 County Highway 34, Ogema, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend on the evening of April 9 and preventing her from leaving the residence they shared until the following day.
According to the criminal complaint, Warren became upset with his girlfriend and started yelling at her; the argument escalated until he allegedly punched her in the face and ribs. The complaint said that the alleged assault continued on and off for two or three hours; every time the woman would try to leave, he allegedly pushed her to the ground, then punched and/or kicked her.
The following day, the woman was finally able to leave the residence and make her way to the hospital in Detroit Lakes, where she was treated for her injuries and contacted local law enforcement about the assault.
Warren’s whereabouts are currently unknown; a warrant for his arrest was issued on Monday.
