WE Fest announces 2014 lineup
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – WE Fest officials got an early start on 2014 by announcing on Monday that Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band will headline next year’s three-day annual country festival.
Aldean has become something of a WE Fest regular. Before headlining 2012’s festival along with Alabama and Toby Keith, he also played the 2010 and 2008 festivals.
The 36-year-old singer was named Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2013 Academy of Country Music awards thanks to the success of his most recent album, “Night Train.”
Brad Paisley, who most recently played in 2011, makes his third trip to WE Fest. He also played the country festival in 2008 and in 2003. The 40-year-old singer scored recent hits like “Remind Me,” “Old Alabama” and “Anything Like Me.”
The Zac Brown Band is the newcomer. The closest the Atlanta-based group has been was the Red River Valley Fair in 2009, where they played to a crowd of more than 15,000.
Since 2002, the band has racked up nine No. 1 singles on the Billboard country charts, including “Free,” “Goodbye in Her Eyes” and “As She’s Walking Away.”
Headline acts for this year’s festival, set for Aug. 1-3, include Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church. Tickets for are still available at www.wefest.com.
Tickets for the 2014 festival, which takes place Aug. 7-9, went on sale Monday.
