For the third year in a row, WE Fest has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs to give away an enormous prize package to one lucky winner drawn on the WE Fest stage before the final act on Aug. 9.

This year’s prizes include a brand new 2014 21’ Gulf Stream AmeriLite travel trailer, a WE Fest VIP music and camping package for 2015, and a fantastic package of camping extras including a $200 Minnesota State Park gift card.

“This is a very exciting event for us each year,” said Patrick Petermann, the Clubs’ executive director. “In the two years we’ve hosted this raffle event, over $98,000 has been raised to support after school and summer programs for local youth attending our Clubs in Detroit Lakes and Perham. Families in our communities need us more than ever, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve them because of the outstanding partnerships and local sponsors that support this event.”

Enrollment at the Clubs’ locations in Perham and Detroit Lakes continues to increase, and both Clubs are ready for busy summer programs that will serve a combined 200 children per day. Attendance during the 2013-2014 school year averaged nearly 250 children per day at both locations combined.

Three out of five children attending Club activities receive help with homework each day. Additionally, the Clubs help kids master social skills, create opportunities to be physically active, offer ways to express creativity through the arts, pair kids with adult mentors, and much more.

The Clubs also offer healthy meals and snacks to members, serving a total of 50,799 in 2013.

Other sponsors supporting this effort include KLN Family Brands, Lakeshirts, Midwest Bank, Arvig, Nereson Automotive, Real Country 102 KRCQ, and OutletRecreation.com.

The camper will be on display in the lakes area throughout the summer, including visits to many local events, parades, and festivals.

Tickets will be available on June 1 at both Club locations, at the Boys & Girls Club Thrift Store & More in Detroit Lakes, at the Re-Use-It Store in Perham, and for five days at WE Fest. More information is available at www.bgcdl.org. 3000 tickets are available for $20 each. Individuals interested in serving as ticket volunteers should call Sue Trnka at 847-5700, Ext. 4.
