A White Earth woman was given a stay of adjudication last week in Becker County District Court on a felony drug possession charge.

Stormy Marie Littlewolf, 21, of 25636 Circle Drive, White Earth, was ordered to serve up to five years of supervised probation and three days in jail, as well as community service in lieu of $1,085 in court fines and fees. If she successfully completes probation, the felony charge will be dismissed.

Littlewolf was convicted on a related misdemeanor charge of fourth degree driving while intoxicate, for which she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days stayed and up to two years of supervised probation. She must also do community service in lieu of a $50 court fine.

Remaining counts of driving while intoxicated, driving after license suspension and an open bottle violation were dismissed.

Littlewolf was originally charged as the result of a traffic stop on County Road 29 in rural Becker County at around 7 p.m. on June 23.

A state trooper stopped the vehicle she was driving after it drifted across the centerline while approaching her squad car on the roadway, coming straight towards her. Though the driver was able to pull the vehicle back into the other lane of traffic in time to avoid a collision, her vehicle was stopped.

The trooper observed that the driver, Littlewolf, appeared intoxicated, and very nervous, reaching toward a wallet on the seat next to her. She showed multiple signs of impairment during field sobriety tests administered at the scene.

After she had been arrested, the wallet was seized, and inside it were 4½ pills containing a drug later identified as Clonazepam, and another pill containing hydrocodone. Also found were three straws and a small glass container with a white powder residue inside, as well as two open beer cans and a near-empty bottle of rum.

A breath test administered at the jail showed her blood alcohol level to be at .12.
