Webbers buy DL Ford Chrysler Dodge

Email News Alerts

With an old-fashioned knock on the door, the Webber family struck a deal to buy DL Ford Chrysler Dodge.

"We went and knocked on the door to see if they wanted to sell," remarked Jeff Webber of his family's purchase of the local car automotive dealership. "It was kind of a unique way to do it this day and age, no brokers or anything."

Brothers Jeff and Brock Webber, along with parents John and Juanita, purchased the Highway 59 Chrysler dealership as of Sept. 4. Rounding out the family ownership quotient are Doran and Kristine (Webber) Schneibel, who own and operate DL RV & Marine with John and Juanita who are part owners of that business as well.

"We want to stress that we are family run and locally owned," explained Jeff Webber. "We are not in it to acquire lots of dealerships. We are here for the long haul. This is our retirement."

Hailing from Western North Dakota, the Webbers have been in the car business for more than 25 years, having owned dealerships if Williston, Minot, Dickinson and Harvey.

"We have been in the car business since 1978," said Jeff Webber. "My dad grew up around here so we are familiar with the area. We just love it here."

Relocating to lakes country, Jeff Webber recently moved his family to the area to run the local Ford Chrysler Dodge dealership with brother Brock, who has been in the area for a number of years.

"I have been down here for about four years, since we bought DL RV and just love it. My background is in car sales, so I am excited to be able to get back into it," Brock Webber said.

"We have a great sales and service department and retained everyone from the time of our purchase," he added.

DL Ford Chrysler Dodge currently employs 27 and DL RV & Marine 18, including seasonal help.

Product, people and location sent the Webbers a knockin' that fateful day last spring.

"We stared this process last April and it took until this fall for all the paperwork to get finalized," explained Jeff Webber. "We were familiar with the Chrysler product and we liked the location. We also liked what we were hearing around town about how much people liked this dealership."

DL RV & Marine will continue to be owned and operated by Doran and Kristine Schneibel, noted Jeff Webber. With four RV lines, Rockwood, Cherokee, Laredo and their new Everestt line, DL RV & Marine also carries Princecraft Pontoons and Deck Boats, Lund fishing boats, Minn-kota trolling motors, Arctic Cat ATVs and snowmobiles, Honda Marine and Mercury outboard motors and FLOE trailer, docks, lifts and Bullfrog Spas, it is a separate entity from the automotive dealership.

"We grew up in the car business, purchasing this dealership is our deal," he explained. "This is an industry that is constantly changing. It is an exciting time to be in the car industry. There are so many changes and new models coming out."

"We are excited to explore the Ford line and Chrysler plans to introduce 20 new products in the next two years," added Brock Webber.

"Everything is moving fast, both for the industry and the dealership, but with one full month now under our belts, we are settling in," concluded Jeff Webber.

DL Ford Chrysler Dodge is located just south of the intersection of Highway 59 and US Highway 10. DL RV & Marine is at 24901 County Highway 6. For more information, call 847-2601 and 847-2108, respectively.
