• Old Timers Dance: 2 to 6 p.m., Rockin' Horse Café, Richville. Music by the Nite Owls.


• Park Rapids Area Community Band: 2 p.m., Park Rapids Area High School Auditorium. The band, under the direction of Dr. Russell Pesola, is comprised of musicians from Perham, Detroit Lakes, Bemidji and Walker.  The concert features a variety of concert band music including the ever-popular marches. Guest soloist for the concert will be Marimba player Dr. David Eyler. Free admission. Info:

• Red River Boy Choir Concert: 3 p.m., Hope Lutheran Church south campus, Fargo. Silent auction bidding will begin at 2 p.m. and close at the end of intermission. Reception to follow concert. Special guest artists: Lake Agassiz Girls Choir and Eric Guttormson, cellist. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and free for 5 and under.

• Country Gospel Music Association: 2 p.m., The Refuge, Detroit Lakes. The first meeting of the North Lakes Chapter of the Country Gospel Music Association. Info: Renee Larson, 234-8868 or

• Student Recital: 7 p.m., Historic Holmes Theatre, 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. The students of Mary Swenson perform. Open to the public.

Monday, May 3


• Jazz Concert: 7 p.m., Detroit Lakes City Park Bandshell. Detroit Lakes High School Jazz Band performs.


• Cathy Wurzer: 7 p.m., Historic Holmes Theatre, 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Minnesota Public Radio host speaks on her new documentary and book, Tales from the Road: Highway 61. The event is free and open to the public.

Tuesday, May 4


• Spring Fashion Show: 7 p.m., The Cactus, Perham. Hosted by the Mary Kay Foundation. A $15 donation includes appetizers and a raffle ticket. Tickets available at Nadine's Boutique in Perham or at the door.

• Todd Sisson: 6:30 p.m., Frazee Liquor, 105 Second St. NE, Frazee. Ages 21 and up.
