The Shrine Circus returns to Detroit Lakes' Kent Freeman Arena for three shows, at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. This year's all-new show includes aerial artists, acrobats, contortionists, comedy and more. Tickets are $5 per person.
The Viking Library System bookmobile is at Dent School from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Dent Bank from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Richville Post Office from 11:45 a.m. to noon and Vergas Municipal Building from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

A masterpiece of world drama, the gripping Henrik Ibsen classic, "Hedda Gabler," has long been a favorite of theater-goers. Commonweal Theatre Company, a professional theatre group from Lanesboro, Minn., will present the play at Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre on Friday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. Along with the evening performance, the actors will do outreach in the public schools. There will be a pre-party featuring a Scandinavian Smorgasbord starting at 6 p.m. in the Holmes Ballroom. Show tickets are $22 for adults, $11 for students; the smorgasbord is $15 per person. Aeromodelers Swap & Show
An Aeromodelers Swap & Show is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Washington Square Mall R/C (remote control) aircraft, boats, cars & control line welcome. Contact Paul Johnson at 846-9939 for more information.
The Vergas State Bank Relay for Life team hosts a craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the St. John's Lutheran Church, United Methodist Church and Lakes Area Fellowship Church. A $1 donation gets you into all three locations. There will also be a Scrapbook Make & Take by Erlene Davis of Pens & Needles for $15 including gift bag and chili. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
All-City Choir Festival
The 35th Annual All-City Choir Festival Grand Finale Concert, featuring DL choir students in grades 5-12, is at 7:30 p.m. in the DL High School Ralph Anderson Gymnasium. Guest conductor is Dr. David Dickau of Minnesota State University Mankato. Tickets available at the door and are $5 for adults, $3 for students grades 5-12; students in grades 4 and under are admitted free.
Red River Singles
A Red River Singles dance and social is at 8:30 p.m. in the American Legion, Fargo. For more information visit www.red-river-singles.org. The theme for the night is '50s, '60s and '70s dance.
Maple Syrup Fest
It's that sweet time of year again! Come and join the community of Vergas for the 10th Annual Maple Syrup Festival. Fresh pancakes topped with pure maple syrup will be served Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Vergas Community Center. Many other activities are also planned, including the Flapjack 5K Run/Walk, which starts at 9 a.m. in front of Billy's Corner Bar. For more information, visit www.govergas.com. Sinatra Movie Marathon
Come to the ballroom of the Historic Holmes Theatre enjoy a Frank Sinatra Movie Marathon, with trivia, prizes and more, starting at 1 p.m. Pull up a lawn chair in our ballroom (or bring your own) and re-live the glamour, elegance and mystery of old Hollywood. Movies featured will include "Guys & Dolls," "Anchors Aweigh" and "Ocean's 11."
