Detroit Lakes' annual winter festival, Polar Fest, continues from now through Monday, Feb. 16. A full schedule of events are planned to celebrate wintertime in Minnesota. Sign up now for DLCCC events including the Ice Tee Golf Tournament on the lake and the Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance set for Friday, Feb. 13 and the Freeze Your Buns 5K Run/Walk and the "Great Polar Race" scavenger hunt set for Saturday, Feb. 14. The Detroit Lakes Library hosts a Book Lover's Tea Party from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10. The fourth annual Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance, set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Historic Holmes Theatre, is a dream-come-true for daughters and their dads, grandfathers, uncles or special friends. Geared to girls ages 2 - 12, this father daughter sweetheart dance creates wonderful memories! From now through Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, the gallery at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center will be filled with a Fiber Arts Show, including an eclectic mix of quilts, rugs, felt sculptures and baskets. Quilts made by local community residents and many items drawn from private collections make up the collection. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no admission charge.
