White Earth Health Center earns accreditation
Detroit Lakes Minnesota 511 Washington Avenue 56501

By demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission's national standard for health care quality and safety, the White Earth Health Center has earned a "Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission through its survey process.

The Joint Commission is considered the nation's predominant standards and accrediting body in health care.

The Joint Commission's comprehensive process evaluates an organization's compliance with quality standards and other accreditation requirements.

The accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to continuously improving the safety and quality of care provided by the organization.

The Joint Commission conducted the unannounced, on-site evaluation of the White Earth Health Center on June 19 and 20.

The survey process is focused on evaluating actual care processes because patients are traced through the care, treatment and/or assessment of measures of success emanating from a periodic performance review.

Achieving JC accreditation is a goal of every health care organization and is not taken lightly. The process of achieving and maintaining accreditation is a rigorous undertaking.

It is intended to help organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, reduce patient risk for undesirable outcomes and create an environment for continuous improvement.

"We sought accreditation for the White Earth Health Center in order to demonstrate our commitment to our patient's safety and quality of care," says CEO Fred Koebrick. "We view obtaining Joint Commission Accreditation as another step toward achieving excellence."
