A White Earth man is in Becker County Jail after being accused of choking his girlfriend Wednesday morning.
Henry Ray Soyring, 24, 39718 400th Ave., White Earth, is facing two felony assault charges related to the incident and a felony charge of violating a no-contact order.
According to court records, the victim called White Earth police to report that she was choked three times by the suspect during an argument at her home on Village Drive in Elbow Lake.
She said that Soyring was intoxicated. She added that she was placed in a headlock and could hear her neck bones cracking.
The victim reported that she was able to flee the residence and call for help.
Soyring was later located at his mother's home.
A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of .052, according to court documents.
He is also facing a felony domestic violence charge for reportedly assaulting the same victim in January. The no-contact order was issued as a result of the January incident.
Becker County District Judge Lisa Borgen set Soyring's bond at $25,000 on Thursday during his first court appearance.
