White Earth man gets 5 years in prison for dealing cocaine
A White Earth man was sentenced to 60 months in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to felony third-degree controlled substance crime, sale.
George Edward Libby Jr., 34, 26292 Eagle Road, White Earth, is currently serving a 30-month prison term for felony domestic assault and possessing drugs with intent to sell.
Becker County District Judge Lisa Borgen also imposed a fine of $50.
Libby will get credit for time served, dating to Sept. 2008.
According to court records, a confidential reliable informant purchased six bindles of cocaine from Libby and another party on four different occasions from March 13-18 from a location on Central Avenue in Detroit Lakes. Each purchase was for $300, court documents state.
The crime took place when he was out on bond while facing charges for the domestic assault.
Testing determined that the total amount of cocaine sold was 9.1 grams.
