Wilbert Leander Miller, 84, died on April 30, 2014, at his home in Mahnomen.
Wilbert was born on April 12, 1930 to Stephen and Mary (Stalberger) Miller in Mahnomen County. He was united in marriage to Iva Thielen on September 23, 1952, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beaulieu.
Over the years, Wilbert worked for several people. In the late 1970's, Wilbert and Iva began vegetable farming on the home farm and, in the early 1980's, he began work as the area grave digger.
Wilbert is survived by his 10 children, Marilyn (Leslie) Brustad of Chaska, Michael (Cindy) Miller of Oak Grove, Douglas (Jodi Cribb) Miller of Breckenridge, Debra (Mike) Neisen of Mahnomen, Steve (Sherry) Miller of St. Hilaire, James (Shawn) Miller of Galesburg, N.D., Thomas (Gayle) Miller of Breckenridge, Joseph (Wanda) Miller of West Fargo, Sandra (John) Matlock of Inver Grove Heights and Terry (JoAnn) Miller of Reiles Acres, N.D.; 25 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Wilbert in death were his parents; wife, Iva; infant children, Christopher and David; as well as grandchildren, Dayna, Kristen and Ashley Matlock, and Kelsey Miller; and one brother, Ervin Miller.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday May 5, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Beaulieu.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at the church, with a 5:30 p.m. prayer service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
