Woman dies in Otter Tail County rollover; driver arrested

A woman died early Friday morning in Otter Tail County after the car she was riding in rolled, and the driver faces charges.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in from a group camping on Franklin Lake at 1:30 a.m. Friday.

The caller told dispatchers someone on the east side of the lake was calling out for help.

Crews found two people with injuries caused by the rollover of a 2007 Dodge Caliber on County Road 31.

The driver, a 42-year-old Florida man, was transported to Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls with non-life threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old woman from Texas was declared dead at the scene.

Names have not yet been released.

The Otter Tail Sheriff’s Office said the driver has been arrested for criminal vehicle homicide and alcohol is suspected as a factor.
