A local woman led Alexandria Police on a brief high-speed chase Tuesday night.

Just after 8 p.m. an officer stopped Talia Rae Hoffman, 21, on 30th Avenue for a burned-out taillight. She took off and headed north on Nokomis Street. The officer briefly pursued Hoffman, but the pursuit was called off. Then, the officer saw the suspect drive up into a yard at 12th and Nokomis Streets and she nearly hit the squad car driving back out onto the street, according to APD.
