Woman gets 9 months for assault that deeply cut man's leg
A Waubun woman has been sentenced to nine months in jail after being convicted earlier this month on a felony charge of third degree assault.
Billie Jo McDonald, 35, of 2804 State Highway 113, Waubun, was also ordered to serve up to five years of supervised probation and do community service in lieu of $135 in court fines and fees. A 21-month prison sentence was stayed, and McDonald was given credit for 185 days of jail time already served.
She was accused of assaulting a man at a White Earth residence on March 10 and inflicting a deep cut to his right leg that required five stitches.
