Woman gets probation for forgery
A Rochert woman was recently granted a stay of sentence adjudication in Becker County District Court with regard to a felony check forgery charge.
Dawn Marie Mayo, 39, of 32874 County Highway 26, Rochert, must complete up to five years of supervised probation, 240 hours of community service, and pay $585 in court fines and fees, plus $411.40 in restitution for damages. If she successfully completes probation, the charge will be dismissed.
Mayo was originally charged with forging three checks totaling over $320 on the business account of a former employer, West Central Recycling, between July 4-7, 2011. The checks were all written to the same Detroit Lakes business in return for goods and services. She did not have permission to use the account, according to court records.
