Women sentenced for altering prescription
A Mahnomen woman was sentenced Wednesday in Becker County District Court on a felony drug charge.
Heather Lynn Doerfler, 22, of 524 1st St. NW, Mahnomen, was accused of altering a prescription and using it to obtain a large quantity of the drug hydrocodone at the Walmart pharmacy on Feb. 15, 2008. Upon checking with her physician, the pharmacy technician learned that the prescription had been altered to allow her to receive 80 pills instead of 30.
Doerfler's sentence was stayed on conditions including up to five years of supervised probation, 30 days in jail and payment of $1,217 in fines and court fees.
