Woodbury, Moorhead top places in Minnesota for job seekers, report says

WOODBURY, Minn. -- If you're out of work, there's no better place to come in Minnesota than Woodbury, according to a recent report.

Woodbury topped the list of best places in Minnesota for job seekers, according to the consumer advocacy website Nerdwallet.com. Moorhead placed second.

The report cites Woodbury's 10.1 percent growth in “the working-age population” between 2009 and 2011 and lists Woodwinds Health Campus, Ecowater Systems and Woodbury Senior Living as top employers in the city. Woodbury's median household income is $92,780, Nerdwallet says.

Nerdwallet researched U.S. census data for growth, median household income, monthly homeowner costs and unemployment in determining its rankings, according to the site.

The top 10 Minnesota cities on the list were:

  3. Shakopee
  4. Rochester
  5. Mankato
  6. Lakeville
  7. Cottage Grove
  8. Richfield
  9. Owatonna
  10. Andover
