F-M Symphony 2010-11 season has a truly international flavor
The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra 2010-11 Masterworks Concert series will feature performances by international recording artist Zuill Bailey, violinist Tai Murray, pianist Emanuele Arciuli and mezzo-soprano Holly Wrensch.
"Taste of the World," as the season has been dubbed, includes concerts focused on particular regions. The schedule for next year is:
"Don Quixote and Music of Spain," featuring cellist Bailley, Oct. 16-17; includes works by Manuel de Falla and Richard Strauss.
"Vive la France," featuring violinist Murray, Nov. 13-14; includes works by Hector Berlioz, Camille Saint-Saëns, George Bizet and Marice Ravel.
"An Evening in Vienna," Jan. 22-23; includes works by Johann Strauss, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gustav Mahler.
"The Spirit of America," featuring pianist Arciuli, March 12-13; includes works by Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Barber.
"Alexander Nevsky," featuring mezzo-soprano Wrensch, April 16-17; includes works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Sergei Prokofiev.
