Leech Lake Art League will hold Art by the Lake, their 52nd annual show, at The Chase on the Lake.

The show will begin with an open reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 and continues 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2.

"Art by the Lake" is open to the public without charge.

Eight of the 28 exhibiting local artists will be showing their work for the first time, and this

year the show will also include three guest artists. Jim Pedersen is a local metal artist of large and small unique pieces. Arthur Smith will exhibit hand crafted wooden furniture, clocks and boxes. Dale Cook turns wood and stone into art.

The show will also feature artwork of two honored, longtime members, Biddie Christenson and Don Beadle.

During the summer several artists attended The Green Scene Farmers Market. Paint and canvases were furnished and "kids of the market" were encouraged to share their painting skills for a "community painting." The four paintings will be presented in a silent auction during the show. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Walker Community Center.
