‘Paws to Read’ at the DL Library

The Detroit Lakes Public Library cordially invites area kids, teens, and families to Paws to Read all summer long at the library.

Check out the following kickoff events, and find a full schedule of events online at!

  • Paws to Read Kick-Off: Thursday, May 29 at 2 p.m. Sign up for summer reading and participate in various activities, including making paper bag animal puppets to decorate the library.
  • Paws at the Zoo — All things Connected: Thursday, June 5 at 2 p.m. The Minnesota Zoomobile is coming to the Detroit Lakes Library with some real live zoo animals! Using a variety of animals, props, and activities, the Zoomobile naturalist will show the relationships that connect all life on earth.
  • My Carbon “Paw Print”: Thursday, June 12 at 2 p.m. Sandy Gunderson from Becker County Environmental Services will discuss what kids can do to help protect the planet. “Green” activities to follow. Call 218-847-2168 for more information.
