Library can help create your dream kitchen

If you have a kitchen that the "Galloping Gourmet" kicked up his heels a bit too much in, making it perfect for the television program "Hell's Kitchen," the library can help you.

Our collection includes books of kitchen designs that would even get you a compliment from hard-nosed, Chef Gordon Ramsay, but more importantly, choosing possible designs before talking to your contractor will make the process of remodeling a lot easier.

Your contractor will be able to look at your designs and tell you what is possible and what is not. So, come to the library and let us help you find your dream kitchen. The following books are just a sample of what's available at your library.

• Great Kitchens, by Jack and Oleta Neith. The dreamiest kitchens are presented in this collection of over 325 exquisite photographs. Hundreds of custom features are shown from award-winning kit-chens by the nation's best manufactu rers.

This visual library of ideas includes examples of storage solutions, unusual surfaces and colors, and creative ways to utilize space efficiently and elegantly.

Get ideas for transforming your existing kitchen into the perfect culinary retreat, or developing a brand-new kitchen with the ambience and functionality you've always wanted. Go ahead, let yourself be inspired!

• Fine Kitchens and Cabinetry, by Tina Skinner. Today's kitchen has become recognized as the most important room in the home, and the likely congregation spot for any gathering, from family to formal. In this beautiful survey book, kitchen designers from coast to coast show off what they have accomplished in custom cabinetry design. These images will delight and inspire you as you plan your new kitchen or the renovation of an older space.

• Country Living 500 Kitchen Ideas: Styles, Function and Charm, by Dominique DeVito. Country Living steps into the kitchen with 500 new and exciting ways to transform the heart of the home.

Packed with winning photographs of warm and inviting rooms, this inspiring guide covers color and pattern, floors and walls, storage, appliances, sinks, work surfaces, windows and lighting, and other charming accessories. A stunning image accompanies every tip: see how a small kitchen becomes cozy when it's filled with warm tones and natural materials; how a checkerboard backsplash brings black cabinets and white walls together; and how a modern refrigerator can work in a retro room -- if it's hidden by a rustic door.

Mix surface styles, add an archway to create a separate eating area, and turn an antique cabinet into an attractive place to store and display dishware. There's an innovative idea on every page...and a design solution for every kitchen.
