Award-winning author in Perham Saturday

John Reimringer, author of the 2011 Minnesota Book Award winning novel, "Vestments" will speak at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham this Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m.

Exploring age-old and yet urgently contemporary issues in the Catholic Church, and infused throughout by a rich sense of the history and vibrant texture of St. Paul, this is an utterly honest and subtly lyrical novel.

"Vestments" confronts the conflicts of a newly ordained young priest from a family whose men "have always loved strong drink and a good fight." A former newspaper editor and a graduate of the MFA program at the University of Arkansas, John Reimringer lives in St. Paul with his wife, the poet Katrina Vandenberg. "Vestments" is his first novel.

Reimringer's presentation is sponsored by the Perham Area Public Library in collaboration with the ITOW Veterans Museum. Admission is free and open to the public.

This program is supported by the Minnesota Book Awards through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education-State Library Services and the Minnesota Library Foundation.  The Minnesota Book Awards is a project of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, in partnership with the Saint Paul Public Library and the City of Saint Paul.
